Summary:
Corn planted four weeks ago, up and looking good.







General Crop Conditions Dry conditions is allowing field work to move ahead at a fast pace.  Much of corn planting is done.

Growing degree days since April 1 are normal.  Rainfall is below normal.

Look to start to harvest first cutting grass.

Look to start cutting alfalfa-grass mixes when the alfalfa  is 23 inches tall.

Second leaf starting to appear on earliest planted.

First cutting alfalfa is 28 inches tall at most locations, harvest now.  Harvest for alfalfa should take place at 28-30 for highest quality  .

Grass
Grass should be cut if not passed by for highest quality.
